Give thanks! It is November, you know.
Most of the men at this college think November is merely a month dedicated to scraggly beards and mustaches. But the truth is this: November is really a month for giving thanks, mostly to God because without him we would be nothing. So this morning I’m thankful for a few things- the fact that I even have a relationship with God, my intelligent and handsome husband and my sweet baby Galen. It’s sad because I think some in this country are already thinking about Christmas, hanging up their wreaths and pulling out their Christmas trees. Sure, most people will sit around a meal thanking God for it on the 22th but I want to give thanks the whole month, not just at the very end. So Paul and I each have a slip of paper, one for each day of this month, and we have to write what we’re most thankful for on that specific day. Then when the last day of November comes, before we get anything related to Christmas out, we’ll go through the jar taking turns reading them. And that’s how we will celebrate. Paul, you’re two days behind- get to it!
